To encourage men to have a close, personal relationship with God through
his Son,
Jesus Christ, so that they will become strong Christians.
Come
Join Us at the Hobo Party
Want to
enjoin the fresh country air, enjoy
homemade stew, play volleyball and
horseshoes, relax in a lawn chair,
pet the baby calves or go on a hayrack
ride? Then set aside Sunday
September 25 and head on out to
the Rein’s Farm west of Sterling for
the annual “Hobo Party” from
3 - ??. For those of you who
are new to the church, this is an
annual gathering of our church family
and friends that started years ago
at the Duden Farm. It’s
a great time with excellent food
and fellowship. Directions
to Kermit and Lori Rein’s
farm will be available as we get
closer to the date.
Sign
up for the Golf Outing
Want to
take a shot at knocking off Pastor
Dave in a game of golf? One
of last year’s teams, “Brandon’s
Ladies”, says they are up
to the challenge! You can
have that chance to beat Pastor
Dave’s team at the 3rd annual
Golf Outing at Emerald Hill on Sunday
October 2 starting at 2:30PM. We
will play a “Best Ball” 9
hole round of golf with recognitions
on certain holes for longest drive,
closet to the pin and longest putt. In
a Best Ball format, each player
on the team contributes a shot on
each hole so you don’t have
to be a world class golfer. Put
together a team of four or we’ll
put you on a team. We had
10 teams last year with some great
competition and fun. Join
us afterwards at Angelo’s
II for pizza and pasta. Sign
up in the Fellowship Hall today.
CMF
Hosts the Sterling Fire
Department at its first meeting
The CMF
is ready to “fire off” its
fall season with the Sterling Fire
Department. CMF will
have its first meeting of the fall
on Monday
September 12 at 6:30PM at
the church. The Sterling Fire
Department will be our guests and
they plan on bringing out one of
their “pumper” trucks
and show us the in and the outs
of operating this heavy hauler. We’ll
also learn some other interesting
points of what’s going on
at the SFD. So have your questions
ready. All men of the church
are invited to attend. Our
menu will be tacos, beans, dessert
and drink.
In order
to share the load for the meetings,
we’re going to utilize a team
concept of having 6-7 guys prepare
the meals and cleanup after the
meetings. You even get to
plan your own menu! This is
the same concept we use for mowing
the church lawn and it works really
well. You get to share in
good fellowship with one other at
the same time. You would only
have to prepare two times at the
maximum during our meeting year. Please
give it some thought and let Steve
Hampton know if you can help out. We
would greatly appreciate it!! The
CMF plans on meeting on the second
Monday of the month at 6:30PM unless
otherwise noted.
